This page describes EBC’s internal editorial processes for informational purposes only. It is not a legal document, financial advice, or a guarantee of accuracy. EBC disclaims all liability for errors, omissions, or outcomes from the use of its content. Always seek independent financial advice. This document has been reviewed by EBC Compliance. The EBC Research & Review Team is an internal, senior review function that seeks to ensure EBC market content is well-researched, verified, and compliant before publication. This page explains what the team does, how review works, and what “Reviewed by EBC Research & Review Team” means on ebc.com.

This page is not a legal document and does not replace our Terms, Risk Disclosures, or other legal notices. Where required, articles include an on-page disclaimer stating that content is for educational and informational purposes only and not financial advice.

1) Where You’ll See The Research & Review Team

In reviewed articles, you may see a byline such as:

  • Author: [Author Name]

  • Reviewed by: EBC Research & Review Team (linked to this page)

Placement may vary by template (for example, near the top of the article, within the article layout, or at the bottom of the article), but the meaning remains the same.

2) What Is “Reviewed by EBC Research & Review Team”

When an article is marked Reviewed by EBC Research & Review Team, it means the team reviewed the content before publication to apply due diligence in verifying that:

  • Key facts, figures, dates, and instrument details are accurate.

  • Important claims are supported by reliable information, prioritising official/primary sources.

  • The analysis is presented responsibly and clearly.

  • Risk/compliance requirements and appropriate disclaimers are met.

3) What The Team Reviews

The Research & Review Team reviews the most important market content published on ebc.com, including content in:

  • News

  • Technical Analysis

  • Market Analysis

  • Education/Academy (especially important or higher-impact educational content)

Some very basic evergreen content (such as dictionary-style definitions) may be written and edited without a Research & Review Team label, depending on internal workflow and prioritisation.

The ‘Reviewed by’ label indicates that the content has undergone EBC’s internal review process. It does not signify endorsement of any market view, trading strategy, or financial instrument. Review is based on information available at the time of publication. EBC does not update all articles in real-time.

4) Who Is The Team?

The EBC Research & Review Team is a central, internal team made up of experienced market professionals with diverse backgrounds across regions and asset classes.

For confidentiality and contractual reasons, EBC may not publicly list individual reviewer names or photos. However, the review is performed by senior specialists whose responsibility is to uphold EBC’s quality, accuracy, and compliance standards.

5) How Review Works

Reviewed content typically follows this process:

  1. Draft prepared by an author/analyst

  2. Editorial edit for clarity, structure, and style

  3. Research review (verification + quality checks)

  4. Risk/compliance review

  5. Publish

The team may conduct periodic post-publication reviews on a selective basis but does not monitor all content in real-time.

6) What The Team Checks

Depending on the content type, the team’s review may include:

Source And Evidence Verification

  • Aiming to verify that key information is based on official and reliable sources (e.g., central banks, official institutions, company reports/earnings, filings, recognised statistical releases)

  • Rejecting claims that cannot be traced to a reliable source

  • Working to ensure sources are represented accurately (no misleading framing or selective omission)

Data And Price Validation

  • Sanity-checking key figures (e.g., prices, changes, rates) and reconciling differences across multiple data sources

  • Checking calculations and basic math (percentage moves, comparisons, time references, and similar items)

Instrument And Market Details

  • Validating tickers/symbols where relevant, instrument naming, market identifiers, and product/market terminology consistency

Quality, Clarity, And Balance

  • Checking for clarity and logical consistency in explanations.

  • Working to ensure analysis avoids over-certainty and is presented in a responsible, educational manner.

Compliance and risk language

  • Working to ensure content is appropriate for publication standards and includes required disclaimers and responsible language (especially for markets and leveraged products)

While the Research & Review Team strives to ensure content is accurate, EBC does not guarantee the completeness, timeliness, or reliability of any information published. Markets are dynamic and information may become outdated after publication.

7) Standards The Team Does Not Compromise On

The Research & Review Team aims to avoid content that relies on:

  • Anonymous or untraceable sources as the basis for factual claims

  • Unverified social media as a source of fact

    • Social content may be used only for limited cross-checking and only from official, verified accounts, and never as the primary basis for key claims

  • Plagiarism, fabrication, or misrepresentation of sources

8) Independence And Integrity

The Research & Review Team operates independently and is focused on quality, accuracy, and standards. Review outcomes are not determined by commercial considerations.

EBC does not publish sponsored/paid articles, advertorials, paid guest posts, or affiliate content within our market articles. The team’s role includes helping ensure that market coverage is not shaped by payments or external influence.

9) Market Data, Timeliness, And “As Of” Reality

Markets move quickly. When an article references prices or market levels, they reflect the information available at the time of writing and review and may change after publicationReaders should verify current data independently before making any decisions.

An article’s updated date may change for multiple reasons (for example, refreshing figures, adding context, or improving clarity). An update does not necessarily mean there was an error.

10) Multilingual Publishing

EBC publishes content in multiple languages. Translated content is handled and proofread by human author-translators. Many non-English articles are either:

  • Translations of English content (with human translation and proofreading), and/or

  • First-hand content produced in local languages

The most important multilingual content is also reviewed through EBC’s research and compliance process before publication.

11) Limitations of Review

The Research & Review Team does not:

  • Guarantee profits or investment outcomes.

  • Assume liability for losses from trading decisions.

  • Review all content on EBC.com (some content is exempt).

  • Provide personal financial advice.

  • Monitor all content after publication in real-time.
