The Euro Stoxx 50 Index is a stock index designed by index provider STOXX that covers Eurozone stocks. The index is owned by Deutsche Bank B ö rse Group. As of August 2020, the index was dominated by France (accounting for 36.4% of total assets) and Germany (35.2%).

Index provider Stoke stated that its goal is to "screen out blue chip stocks that represent super industry leaders in the eurozone". It is composed of 50 largest and most liquid stocks. The Euro Stoxx 50 index futures and options traded on the European Futures Exchange are one of the most liquid products in Europe and globally.

The European Stoxx 50 index was launched on February 26, 1998. Derived from the 19 Euro Stoxx region super sector indices, it represents the largest super sector in the eurozone and is calculated based on the value of the freely circulating stock market. This index includes the European Stoxx Total Market Index (EUROThe STOXX Total Market Index (TMI) accounts for approximately 60% of the freely tradable stock market value, while the TMI covers approximately 95% of the freely tradable stock market value of the represented country.
