Summary:
EBC will revise leverage rules for XBRUSD, XNGUSD and XTIUSD from 6 August 2026, with session-based controls and enhanced risk management.
In view of the recent increase in volatility across energy markets and the associated rise in market risk, EBC will revise the leverage arrangements for energy symbols with effect from 00:00 on 6 August 2026, MT server time (UTC+3).
This change will apply to all trading accounts on live server and will cover the following energy symbols:
XBRUSD, XNGUSD and XTIUSD
Currently, the following fixed leverage applies to all trading accounts when trading these symbols across all trading sessions:
XBRUSD: 1:100
XNGUSD: 1:50
XTIUSD: 1:100
Following the adjustment, the leverage applicable to the above energy symbols will vary according to the relevant trading period, as set out below:

Normal Trading Hours:
All trading hours other than the designated periods set out below.
Major Economic Data Release Window:
From 30 minutes before to 5 minutes after the release of the US Non-Farm Payrolls report (NFP), US Consumer Price Index (CPI) data and Federal Reserve interest rate decisions.
Fixed Pre-Close Period:
The final 1 hour before market close from Monday through Thursday, and the final 3 hours before market close on Friday.
Public Holiday Early-Close Period:
The final 1 hour before an early market close from Monday through Thursday, and the final 3 hours before an early market close on Friday.
The actual leverage applicable to energy symbols will be determined by both the leverage of the trading account and the relevant trading period.
Where the leverage of a trading account is changed, the leverage applicable to energy symbols may also change accordingly.
Following this adjustment, the margin required for existing positions and newly opened positions in energy symbols may increase. Please review your account equity, margin and free margin in advance, and manage your positions and trading risk appropriately to avoid your margin level falling to the stop-out level.
Should there be any changes to the above arrangements, a further notice will be issued. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
EBC will adjust leverage for new positions from July 3, 2026, during specific periods before market closes. The measure covers forex, metals, and margin risks.
